PCB keen on hosting short series with India at neutral venue

Lahore, Nov.10 (ANI): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is keen on hosting a brief series between India and Pakistan on a neutral venue, most probably in England, before a full bilateral cricket series can be organised between the two arch-rivals next year.

According to sources, PCB chief Ijaz Butt, during his recent India visit urged his counterparts to work out space for a short series.

Former Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) president Sharad Pawar, had, however, told Butt that such a series was only possible when the relationship between both the countries improves.

The PCB is eager to resume the bilateral cricket ties between the two countries, as it believes that it is the only option to revive its sagging financial status.

During a recent meeting with the board's governing body member, Butt had said that an increase in the board's income is only possible if it plays bilateral series against India, which would bring television rights and sponsorships, The Nation reports. (ANI)
