PCB mulls organizing T20 match with India, Sri Lanka for Swat displaced

By Super Admin

Lahore, May 26 (ANI): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is mulling over a proposal to organize an exhibition Twenty20 match against India or Sri Lanka to raise funds for thousands of people displaced in Swat due to the military operation.

The PCB has already approached the International Cricket Council (ICC) with its proposal of hosting the fund raiser game on the sidelines of the Twenty20 World Cup to be held in England in June.

"I hope the ICC will support our efforts to raise funds for the refugees in England," the PCB's governing board member Mohammad Ali Shah said.

The PCB is hoping to set up a match against India as that could help it raise substantial funds because of the huge Asian population in England, The Daily Times reports.

People would also be interested in seeing the two arch rivals compete after a long gap as cricketing ties between both the countries were severed after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. (ANI)
