Born in Durban, South Africa, Paige Scholfield is an all-rounder who bats right-handed and bowls right-arm medium pace. She started her journey in England with Sussex, making her county debut in 2012, where she took one wicket for nine runs. Over the next few years, she became a key part of the Sussex team, helping them win the county championship in 2013 and scoring her first T20 half-century against Surrey in 2014. Her early promise earned her spots in various England Academy programs and she also played for Loughborough Lightning during her college years.

Moving to the Southern Vipers, she played a vital role in their success and helped them win the 2020 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy. She continued to deliver important performances for the team and made her maiden List A half-century in 2022. Seeking new opportunities she signed with the South East Stars in 2023, where she truly found her best form. She scored her first List A century with an unbeaten 111 and followed it up shortly after with a massive unbeaten 134 against Western Storm. During this time, she also became a valuable player for the Oval Invincibles in The Hundred tournament.

Her outstanding domestic form finally caught the attention of the national selectors, leading to her ODI and T20 international debuts for England against Ireland in September 2024. Although she was selected for a tour of South Africa later that year, an unfortunate ankle injury ruled her out just before the series began. By 2025, she was playing for Surrey and had also secured an overseas contract to play for the Perth Scorchers in the Australian T20 league. Despite missing out on the 2025 World Cup squad, she remained determined and participated in England training camps and intra-squad games.

Going into 2026, Scholfield has proven herself as a highly explosive batter in domestic cricket. Her power hitting was on full display in April 2026 during a One-Day Cup match for Surrey against Yorkshire. In a spectacular innings she smashed 89 runs off just 42 balls, hitting an incredible 17 fours and two sixes. She was on track to break the record for the fastest women's List A century before finally being dismissed. She continues to dominate bowling attacks and remains a major force on the county circuit with her sights set on reclaiming her regular spot in the England team.
