Melbourne, Nov 16 : Australian cricket Ricky Ponting has reportedly admitted that India were a better side, as compared to his, during the just concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series, which his side lost 0-2.

This was Aussies' first Test series defeat since the 2005 Ashes.

He said that after losing to India, his side would change gears and move on against New Zealand.

"We are not in India now. While it is important for us all to think about what happened and how we played, you cannot live in the past with cricket, we have to put things behind us and move on quickly. There's very little time between losing to India and taking on New Zealand and there's a world of difference between the conditions and opposition. We were beaten by a better side there and now it's time to change gears," he wrote in an article in The Australian.

In his column, Ponting talked about the Indian tour, looked at the positives to emerge from that tour, and looked forward to the home Test series against Trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand.

He identified Simon Katich, Shane Watson and Jason Krejza as the three big positives to take from the tour.

About Krejza, who picked up 12 wickets in debut Nagpur Test, Ponting wrote, "It is stating the obvious to say that Jason Krejza was terrific in India, 12 wickets on debut is a once-in-a-generation effort, but what was so good was watching him improve as the tour went on. I worked with him a lot in the nets about different angles and deliveries and everybody who faced him as the tour went on was talking about what a different bowler he was towards the end," he said.

Ponting added: "He would not have got 12 wickets in the first Test, and that's not a surprise as he had hardly played any first-class cricket."
