And the IPL 2026 auction witnessed exactly that, as Chennai Super Kings broke the bank for two uncapped Indian players.

Veer was snapped up by Chennai Super Kings for ₹14.20 crore at the IPL 2026 auction, making him the joint most expensive uncapped player in IPL history.

Kartik Sharma is a 19-year-old wicketkeeper-batter from Rajasthan, known for his aggressive strokeplay and finishing skills. His explosive performances in domestic T20 cricket quickly brought him into the spotlight. CSK got him for Rs 14.2 crore as well.

In the previous years, other Indian uncapped players have also received huge money in the auction.

Avesh Khan rose to prominence as a fast bowler with the ability to generate pace and movement, earning recognition through consistent domestic performances. He was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for ₹10 crore during the 2022 mega auction, a record for uncapped players at the time.

Krishnappa Gowtham established himself as a reliable spin-bowling all-rounder with strong lower-order hitting abilities in domestic cricket. He was signed by Chennai Super Kings for ₹9.25 crore at the IPL 2021 auction.

Shahrukh Khan is a powerful middle-order batter known for his six-hitting ability and finishing role in T20 cricket.
Punjab Kings acquired him for ₹9 crore at the IPL 2022 auction, placing him among the most expensive uncapped players.
