Indian fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has set an undesirable record, becoming the most expensive Indian bowler in terms of runs conceded in a T20I match.
The fast bowler was hit for 68 runs in his allotted four overs against Australia on Tuesday in Guwahati. Krishna found himself on the receiving end of some brutal hitting, with a whopping 23 runs coming off his final over alone, allowing power-hitter Glenn Maxwell to take Australia to a memorable victory.

The unfortunate spell by Krishna now puts him as the Indian bowler to have given away the most runs in a single T20I game. This dubious record was previously owned by Yuzvendra Chahal, who conceded 64 runs against South Africa in a match back in 2018. This is a disappointing milestone for Krishna, who had to face the wrath of Glenn Maxwell in the high-pressure final over of the game.
Krishna's expensive spell also finds a place among the worst by a bowler in the history of T20Is. His spell is the sixth most expensive, with Sri Lanka's Kasun Rajitha occupying the top spot, having been hit for a staggering 75 runs against Australia in 2019.
An element of sympathy should be reserved for Prasidh Krishna, who was entrusted with bowling the decisive final over. With Australia needing 21 runs to win, an in-form Maxwell at the crease, and an additional fielder inside the ring, which made it a daunting task.
