President congratulates women's cricket team

New Delhi, May 12: Following India's victory in the women's cricket Asia Cup at the Welagedara Stadium in Kurunegala, President Pratibha Patil has congratulated the team and their captain Mithali Raj for their stupendous performance.

President said the comprehensive victory in the final match against Sril Lanka yesterday, has once again proved that our women cricketers are a force to rekon with. India clinched their fourth successive women's cricket Asia Cup title by thrashing Sri Lanka by a massive margin of 117 runs. This was also the fourth successive clashes between the two nations in the finals of the Championship.
