India opener Prithvi Shaw has dismissed his viral Valentine's Day story, saying that his picture has been edited to show something which he never posted on social media.

In the alleged Instagram Story by the Delhi Capitals star, he can be seen posing in a candid fashion with a girl. The girl seen in the picture is allegedly of actor Nidhhi Tapadiaa. Notably, Tapadiaa has been tagged in the post.

"Someone editing my pics and showing stuffs that I haven't put on my story or on my page. So ignore all the tags and msges thx," Shaw clarified via his Instagram story.

The 23-year-old was recently recalled for the 3-match home T20I series against New Zealand. However, Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan were preffered ahead of him for the opening spot.

I was sleeping and my phone was on silent. I saw a lot of messages and calls and my phone was hung. Then I checked that I was called back into the national side. There were no celebrations since I was playing in Assam. But he (his father) was quite happy. I went to Delhi after playing in Assam. After my return from Delhi, he was happy. He told me to keep focus and make the best of my chances. I want India to win the series. I want to win matches for my country and give more than 100 per cent for the team in every area," Shaw had said after his comeback.
