Prithvi Shaw smashed a scintillating hundred on his comeback from injury after a six-month layoff, however, he is not expecting an India comeback right now. The 24-year-old returned to his old self. smashing 159 runs off just 185 balls in the first innings against Chandigarh in the Ranji Trophy 2023-24.
The innings from Prithvi Shaw consisted of 18 fours and three sixes, and helped Ajinkya Rahane-led Mumbai post 351 in the first innings. Shaw made immediate headlines after the blazing knock.

In a recent interview with The Indian Express, Shaw was asked about his plans for India comeback. The opener said currently he was just aiming to win the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai.
"I'm not thinking too far off and want to stay in the present. There is no expectation, I'm happy that I'm back playing cricket. I have just come back after injury and just want to give my best. My aim is to win the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai and I'm trying to achieve that by contributing as much as I can going ahead," Prithvi Shaw said in an interview with The Indian Express.
Further, Prithvi Shaw also admitted that he was unsure about his batting after the prolonged injury gap, but got in the groove after spending some time in the middle.
"I wanted to do well but somewhere I wondered whether I would be able to bat in my style or not. Kaise kheloonga (how will I play), when I would make a comeback and whether it will be on a good note or not. These were the thoughts which were going around. But after I stayed for a few hours, things became normal," Shaw added.
“I wasn't nervous but the feeling was a bit ajeeb (strange) when I resumed my batting. However, I did a match simulation and was motivating myself that everything will be fine. My body language was fine,” he explained.
Shaw injured his knee while fielding for Northamptonshire in August last year. The Delhi Capitals (DC) youngster underwent a surgery and worked hard at the NCA before making his comeback.
