Prithvi Shaw, once hailed as one of India's brightest top-order batting prospects, has taken a significant step in reviving his domestic career by moving from Mumbai to Maharashtra for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season.
The former India international, who has represented the country in all three formats, is eyeing a fresh start after a period of inconsistency and struggles with form and fitness.

The Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) confirmed Shaw's addition to their squad in what they termed a "strategic shift" that strengthens their already solid lineup. The move marks a major development in the Indian domestic circuit, especially with Shaw bringing his international experience and explosive batting style to Pune.
Shaw, who captained India to victory in the 2018 ICC U-19 World Cup, has scored over 4,500 runs in first-class cricket, including 13 centuries. However, his recent lean phase with Mumbai led to limited opportunities, prompting him to seek new beginnings.
"At this stage of my career, I believe joining the Maharashtra team will help me grow further as a cricketer," Shaw stated in an MCA press release. "I am deeply grateful to the Mumbai Cricket Association for the opportunities and support I have received over the years. Maharashtra Cricket Association has made remarkable efforts in recent years to enhance cricketing infrastructure across the state. Initiatives like the Maharashtra Premier League, Women's MPL, Corporate Shield, and D.B. Deodhar Tournament are testament to their vision. I'm confident that being part of such a progressive setup will positively impact my journey as a cricketer."
The 24-year-old will now share the dressing room with seasoned domestic performers such as Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ankit Bawne, Rahul Tripathi, Rajneesh Gurbani, and Mukesh Choudhary. "I'm happy to get the opportunity to play alongside talented players like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ankit Bawne, Rahul Tripathi, Rajneesh Gurbani, and Mukesh Choudhary in the Maharashtra team," he added.
Welcoming Shaw, MCA President Rohit Pawar said, "His inclusion adds tremendous strength to an already talented squad... Shaw's international and IPL experience will be invaluable, especially for mentoring younger players in the squad."
With renewed focus and a fresh platform, Shaw will be eager to script a strong comeback.
