After being granted bail by a magistrate court on Monday, Bhojpuri actress and social media influencer Sapna Gill has now lodged a complaint against India cricketer Prithvi Shaw for allegedly "outraging her modesty".

In an incident which took place last Wednesday outside a luxury hotel at Santacruz in Mumbai, Gill and seven others allegedly attacked Shaw and his friends after being denied a selfie with the Delhi Capitals (DC) captain. In a viral video, Gill can be holding a baseball bat while getting into an altercation with the star cricketer. The car of Shaw's friends was also vandalised by Gill and her friends reportedly. The accused were booked under Indian Penal Code sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 148 (rioting), 387 (putting a person in fear of death or of grievous hurt in order to commit extortion) and 506 (criminal intimidation).

Gill's application, filed on Monday through her advocate Kaashif Ali Khan at Airport police station in Andheri, seeks an FIR against Shaw, his friend Ashish Yadav and others for alleged molestation and outraging of modesty, according to a PTI report.

"Criminal complaint registered against Prithvi Shaw, Ashish Surendra Yadav, Brijesh & others (not known to complainant) for illegal acts of molesting and outraging the modesty of Sapna Gill u/s 34, 120b, 144, 146, 148, 149, 323, 324, 351, 354 & 509 of IPC," Adv Ali Kaashif Deshmukh has said.

According to Gill, her friend Shobhit Thakur had gone to a club on February 15 when they had seen Shaw in an allegedly inebriated condition. She has added that Shobhit is a cricket fan and hence approached the 23-year-old for a selfie which led to the ugly brawl.

"Thakur, who is just a teenager, was unaware of the brutality of the drunken mob. Thakur was helpless and was unable to defend himself. Hence, she (Gill) intervened and entered the fray trying to stop Shaw and others from further harming and injuring Thakur," as per the application, said the PTI report.

Furthermore, the application mentioned that Gill begged and pleaded with Shaw, who was "inebriated" at the time of the incident.

Gill's application alleged Shaw outraged her modesty, an offence punishable under 354 (molestation) and other provisions of the Indian Penal Code.
