Prithvi Shaw has formally approached the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for a No Objection Certificate (NOC), signalling his intention to move on from the state side ahead of the upcoming domestic season.
The 25-year-old India opener, who last played for Mumbai on December 24, has informed the MCA that he has received multiple offers, reportedly from three to four state associations, and is currently weighing his options.

"He has just sent us a letter seeking NOC. We have informed the Apex Council members. We will issue the NOC soon," MCA secretary Abhay Hadap confirmed to Cricbuzz.
"At this juncture of my career, I have been presented with a promising opportunity to play professional cricket under another State Association, which I believe, will further contribute to the growth and development as a cricketer. In light of this, I kindly request you to issue me a No Objection Certificate (NOC) that will enable me to officially represent the new state association in the upcoming domestic season," Shaw stated in a letter to MCA.
Shaw, once seen as one of Indian cricket's brightest prospects, made a sensational start to his international career with a century on Test debut in 2018. But despite his early success, his trajectory faltered. The right-hander has turned out for India in only five Tests, six ODIs, and a solitary T20I, with his last international appearance coming in 2021. He was dropped from the Mumbai Ranji team last year, citing fitness concerns and also went unsold in the most recent IPL auction.
"Please be assured that this decision has been made after careful consideration, and with utmost respect for the MCA. I remain ever grateful to the association for the guidance and platform provided over the years," Shaw added in his letter.
The talented player took part in the recently concluded Mumbai T20 league, but his performance was not up to the mark in that competition as well. MyKhel understands the player was interested in a move to Odisha in the past, but his current destination remains to be seen.
