
Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars will lock horns in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023 Final, which is scheduled to take place this Saturday (March 18) instead of the originally scheduled date of Sunday (March 19) at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The PSL season 8 final was shifted to a day earlier as PCB cited possible threat of rain on the originally scheduled date with two reserve days in place in case weather plays spoilsport.
Multan Sultans qualified for the PSL final 2023 after an 84-run victory over Lahore Qalandars in the Qualifier on Wednesday (March 15). After Kieron Pollard fifty powered Sultans to 160/5, Sheldon Cottrell's 3-wicket haul bundled Qalanadrs for just 76.
Qalandars got a second shot at making the final as they finished in the top two in the PSL points table and took that opportunity well. The 2022 champions kept their hopes of a title defence alive after victory over Peshawar Zalmi in Eliminator 2.

Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi had sealed a 12-run win over Islamabad United on Thursday (March 16) in Eliminator 1 to book their meeting with Qalandars in Eliminator 2.
Zalmi, who rode on Babar Azam's fifty set a target of 184, restricted Islamabad United to 171 as fifties from Alex Hales and Sohaib Maqsood went in vain for the chasing team.
The two finalists have met three times earlier this season. In the first meeting, Qalandars pulled off a 1-run victory in the tournament opener. In the second meeting, Qalandars registered a 21-run victory. Multan Sultans, however, won the latest fixture - PSL 2023 Qualifier by 84 runs.
The PSL season 8 final between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars will take place on Saturday (March 18) and will start at 7 PM Local Time (7:30 PM IST).
