PSL 2024 is about to commence with the former two-time winners Islamabad United going against the defending champions (Lahore Qalandars) in the first game on February 17. The fans are eager to see their cricketing heroes performing in the red jersey, led by their star all-rounder Shadab Khan.
Islamabad United seems to have all the bases covered in the batting department. Alex Hales and Colin Munro known for their aggressive batting style will start things off, followed by Shadab Khan, and Azam Khan.

Then, United incorporated some local talents like Salman Agha, and Qasim Akram, who could provide the balance to their batting lineup in the ninth edition of PSL. This time Islamabad United has plenty of options when it comes to fast bowling.
Naseem Shah, a Pakistan speedster will lead the pace attack, along with Tymal Mills, Ubaid Shah (one of the emerging stars, who recently claimed 18 wickets in the U19 World Cup) and Hunain Shah. Matthew Forde, Obed McCoy and Faheem Ashraf provide further bench strength to the bowling lineup.
However, Islamabad United lacks options in the spin bowling department this season. The only two prominent spinners they have are Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim, except for these two they only got part-timers. The skipper after an injury hasn't been able to regain his form and Imad Wasim might take some time to gel with the group.
