PSL 2024: 'Khamosh Rahe' - Iftikhar Ahmed and Jason Roy involved in heated exchange - Watch Video

PSL 2024: The last league match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 between Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators witnessed a heated exchange between Iftikhar Ahmed and Jason Roy at the National Stadium in Karachi on Tuesday, March 12.

The incident happened during the second innings when David Willey trapped Roy in front of the stumps in the third over of the match. As the Quetta Gladiators opener was walking back disappointed towards batting partner to discuss a potential review, Iftikhar Ahmed said something which left the England star unimpressed.

Jason Roy took a few steps towards to confront Iftikhar who looked in no mood to back down. Multan captain Mohammad Rizwan soon interrupted and calmed down Roy with a pat on his back. However, Roy failed to take a review as the 15-second timer lapsed during the heated exchange.

Jason Roy, who recently pulled out of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) squad ahead of the IPL 2024, is enduring a tough PSL 2024 season. With only two fifty-plus scores, the 33-year-old has scored 252 runs in nine matches at an average of 28 and a strike rate of 143.18.

His team lost the match by 79 runs after getting bundled out at 106 in 15.5 overs. On the flip side, Multan Sultans reclaimed their top spot with the win, and will face Peshawar Zalmi in the Qualifier 1 on Thursday, March 14. After finishing at fourth spot, Quetta will lock horns against Islamabad United in Eliminator a on Friday, March 14.

The loser of Qualifier and winner of Eliminator 1 will clash against each other in Eliminator 2 on Saturday, March 16. The PSL 2024 final will be played on Monday, March 29 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
