The ninth edition of Pakistan Super League - PSL 2024 is all set to start on Saturday (February 17) with the league stage and conclude with the title clash a month later on March 18.
Like previous editions, PSL 2024 also will see six teams battle in double round-robin format in the league stage with the top four teams heading into the playoffs - Eliminators, Qualifier and the Final.

The six teams competing in the ninth season of the PSL are defending back to back champions Lahore Qalandars, season 4 winners Quetta Gladiators, season 2 winners Peshawar Zalmi, two-time champs Islamabad United, season 5 winners Karachi Kings and 2021 champs Multan Sultans.
In the PSL Playoffs, the table-topper and second placed teams will battle in Qualifier 1 with the winner earning a direct passage to the final, while all is not lost for the loser, who gets a second shot at making the title clash via the Eliminator 2, where they will face the winner of Eliminator 1.
PSL 2024 will see a total of 34 matches played across four venues in Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Multan. All the six teams had finalized their squads during the Players Draf last year, but some players have pulled out due to injury.
Although some players have withdrawn from the league, replacements have been named for a few. Also there were some changes in personnel to all the squads. There was a change in captaincy in one of the franchises.
Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United retained their skippers from last season, while Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators named new skipper for the upcoming season. Sarfaraz Ahmed and Imad Wasim have been replaced at the helm.
Like the captains, most franchises have also announced their coaching and backroom staff for the upcoming edition of the PSL 2024. Few have made big changes to their support staff as Shane Watson, Mike Hesson and Phil Simmon arrive for their first stints: Here is a look at the captain and support staff:
