The ninth season of the Pakistan Super League - PSL 2024 is all set to start with defending champions Lahore Qalandars taking on the Islamabad United at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday (February 17).

PSL 2024 will see 6 teams battle in double round-robin format in the league phase with the top four on the points table after the league stage heading into the playoffs - Qualifier 1, Eliminator 1, Eliminator 2 and then the HBL PSL season 9 final.

The top two teams will meet in Qualifier 1 with the winner earning a direct entry into the final, while the loser will get another shot at making the final in Eliminator 2, where they will face the winner of Eliminator 1, which will be contested by the 3rd and 4th placed teams.

The 34-match tournament will be held across four venues, starting with 14 matches in Lahore and Multan followed by 16 matches in Rawalpindi and Karachi, which will also host the PSL 2024 playoff matches next month.

When does PSL 2024 start and end?

The Pakistan Super League 9 starts on February 17 with the league stage and ends a month later with the final on March 18. A total of 34 matches, including the playoffs, will be played across 4 venues this season.

The matches will be held mostly single-header format while there will be six double header days - 2 on a Wednesday (February 21 & March 6), 3 on a Sunday (February 18, 25 & March 10) and 1 on a Saturday (March 2). There will be two different start times for matches in PSL season 9.

What time do the PSL 2024 matches start?

The first match on double header day starts at 2 PM Local Time (PKT), 2:30 PM IST in India, 3 PM BST in Bangladesh. The second match follows the standard start time of the single header days - 7:30 PM Local Time (PKT), 8 PM IST and 8:30 PM BST.
