PSL 2024: The Multan Sultans will go head-to-head with Karachi Kings at Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan on Sunday (February 18) in one of the doubleheaders. The last two-time runners-up Sultans will be heading into the tournament, determined to clinch the title this time.

On the other hand, Kings would like to repeat the performance of the 2020 edition. The Sultans, led by Mohammad Rizwan have come second to Lahore Qalandars for the last two seasons.

The 2021 season winners have been portraying great performances and form in all departments for the last three seasons. However, the Karachi Kings after not being able to grab a place in the playoffs, will be looking to change this fact this time around.

Multan Sultans have emerged as one of the excellent and most dominated teams of PSL in the last few seasons. Their performance also translated into the results, having won the title in 2021 and missing out on it by a very slight margin in the following two seasons.

The Sultans have one of the most formidable batting lineups in the tournament. They have got explosive batters like, Pakistani wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan, South African Reeza Hendricks, who'll be joining the franchise for the first time and Englishman Dawid Malan.

These players make the top-order quite sturdy. Then reliable players like Khushdil Shah, Iftikhar Ahmed, Johnson Charles and David Willey will follow down the order. Therefore, they pretty much tick all the boxes regarding the batting department.

However, their bowling attack lost a bit of shine due to losing their two key pacers. Last year local sensation Ihsanullah and English speedster Reece Topley will miss the action this season because of an injury.

On the other hand, Karachi Kings led by Shan Masood after quite ordinary outings in the last few editions, will try to change their fortune this time. However, the biggest concern the Kings have right now is the unavailability of international players like Tabraiz Shamsi and Jamie Overton.

Although, their Batting lineup looks good with the inclusion of players like James Vince and Tim Seifert in the top-order along with Masood. Then, they have power-hitting options in the form of Kieron Pollard and Irfan Khan.
