Multan Sultans vs Islamabad United, PSL 2024: Multan Sultans continue their winning run in the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League as they got the better of Islamabad United in a low-scoring affair at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday (February 20).

Back-to-back half centuries by Agha Salman (52) and a supporting 41-run knock by Jordan Cox helped Islamabad United put 144 runs on board before they were all out by the end of the 20th over. Mohammad Ali (3/19) and Afridi (3/33) did the job with the ball for Sultans before Mohammad Rizwan (44) and Reeza Hendricks (58) scored top of the order to steady the chase.

Mohammad Rizwan | Multan skipper: "The way we started in the chase, we thought it would be a tough chase, but we had wickets in hand. We have good balance in our squad. Our batters are in good form as well. Almost all the batters got runs thus far and that is always a good sign moving forward. I don't really focus too much on strengths and weaknesses, would like to treat it as one game at a time."

Mohammad Ali | Player of the Match: "The pitch here supports the pacers, and I just tried to use it to my advantage to hit my lengths. The strategy we make is different to each batter and I always try to hit the top of off. It is not a difficult transistion from red ball cricket to white ball cricket. Red ball cricket is very challenging and you need to be really disciplined in that format."

Shadab Khan | Islamabad skipper: "We were 10-15 runs short. How we fought was brilliant. I just wanted them to express themselves, attitude was amazing. Pitch was bit difficult so wanted to give the chance to the proper batter (him coming down the order). Coxy was here. Wanted to give him a chance at his number. I am, but I'm still an allrounder, Coxy is playing as a batter. The last over which I bowled, if I went for less, could've been a different ball game."
