Peshawar Zalmi vs Islamabad United Preview

Both the teams won their games before their last games washed out due to rain. Peshawar won against Islamabad by eight runs on February 26. Islamabad won against Karachi by seven wickets on February 28. Peshawar and Islamabad will play against each other on March 04 in Rawalpindi for the second time this season.

Babar Azam (330 runs in 5 matches) is the highest run-scorer with the highest score of 111 runs off 63 balls and is also the focal point of Peshawar's batting strategy. The team hopes that Saim Ayub could repeat his 88 runs off 55 balls performance in the upcoming games. Rovman Powell deserves a special mention for his outstanding and quick-scoring cameos at the latter phase of the innings.

The legspinner, Arif Yaqoob turned the game on its head by taking 5/27 in his last game. The leg-spinner has a unique skill of bowling in death overs as most of his wickets came in those. The left-arm quick, Luke Wood bowler has not gone through a game in the 2024 PSL without taking a wicket. He will be looking to maintain that record in this match.

Colin Munro (186 runs in 5 matches) is the highest run scorer for Islamabad and seemed to regain his form after a few disappointing outings. Salman Agha showed great temperament in the first few matches but after that, he's been out of colours. The wicket-keeper batsman, Azam Khan, showed what this talented batter is capable of, in his game against Peshawar last time, where he scored a blistering 75 runs off 30 balls.

The skipper Shadab Khan's performance with bat or ball has been hot and cold, but his decision-making has been the talk of the town. Many experts like Wasim Akram questioned his decision of, not batting up the order after the first game.
The Pakistan ace pacer, Naseem Shah (7 wickets in 5 matches) is the highest wicket-taker for United. Naseem after a long-lasting injury and recovery finally looks in good shape.
