PZ vs KK, PSL 2024: Who Said What
Shan Masood, Karachi Kings captain: "Like we said, it's how you respond to performances (good or bad). Coming from adversity, the guys showed great character and responded well, the way how we bowled upfront, it set-up the game for us. One event depends on the other - Mir bowling well was a result of Malik's first-ball wicket.
"There wasn't any rain, but it was gloomy and we felt the wicket was going to get better going deep into the match. It's simple for me, we must have a purpose and process to what we do, we did a lot of right things against Multan, my message was simple, let's go out there, execute the plans and go out to enjoy.
"I've been fortunate to have some great captains - Pollard, Bopara, Vince and Malik, having a deep batting line-up allowed us to send Pollard higher up and he showed how dangerous he could be."
Mir Hamza | Player of the Match: "I'm happy, we won the match, the bowlers did well - Hasan Ali and Daniel Sams, then the batters - Vincy, Malik and Pollard finished the game for us. Shan bhai and the management have given me the responsibility of taking wickets in the powerplay, which is important in T20s. I got a bit of help from the pitch as well. There was some moisture and I was trying to swing both ways, was looking to play with their minds."
Babar Azam: "We started well in the batting powerplay, but we did fall short by a few runs. We need to build our innings, get partnerships and take the pitch into account. I'm happy with my personal form though, happy to have got past 10,000 career runs."
Kieron Pollard: "It was important to get a win. The guys and the coaching staff backed ourselves, we went out there and executed our plans well in the field. The first ball was in my slot (on Waqar Salamkheil), he bowled wider in the next couple of balls, I could take him down in the next over. Credit to Malik and Vince for having consolidated. I was pretty chilled, there was a great atmosphere in the dressing room, the guys were calm and cool."
