Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfaraz Ahmed hopes to end the franchise's four-season poor run in the upcoming PSL 2024 season, which starts on February 17. The gloveman is hopeful that their recent key signing at the draft will prove decisive, including fixing-tainted Mohammad Amir.
Since becoming the champion in 2019, Quetta Gladiator have finished among the the bottom two in the six-team Pakistan Super League over the last four seasons. Addressing a press conference, Sarfaraz Ahmed said somebody Amir will bring his form to Quetta.

"In the last two years, wherever Amir has played cricket, his team has been performing well," Sarfaraz said. "Amir and Sohail Khan are experts in both bowling new and old balls. We are hopeful that Amir will prove to be profitable for Quetta Gladiators."
During the PSL 2024 draft, Quetta Gladiators made several crucial picks, including Sherfane Rutherford, Saud Shakeel, Usman Qadir; and Akeal Hosein, Sohail Khan (supplementary). Crucially, Wanindu Hasaranga and Rilee Rossouw were traded in before the PSL 2024 draft and are expected to add to the strength with Jason Roy as their key top-order batter.
Hasaranga won't be available for the entire of the PSL 2024 and will be replaced by Bismillah Khan when he leaves for national duty. Laurie Evans was also added during the fourth supplementary round.
