Afghanistan star Rashid Khan has officially withdrawn from PSL 2024 as he continues to rehab from his injury.
It has come o a huge blow for Lahore Qalandars, who will now be without the services of one of their marquee players, who was key in their triumph in the 2022 and 2023 PSL seasons.

Despite being retained by the Qalandars within the 'silver' salary category with an eye on future seasons, it has now been confirmed that he will not participate in the PSL's 2024 edition.
Rashid's journey to recovery has led him to officially withdraw from the upcoming tournament to focus on rehabilitation after his surgery last November. His absence has opened a slot for the Qalandars, who now have the opportunity to sign a new player as a substitute in the supplementary and replacement draft. The Qalandars are also looking for a replacement for Dan Lawrence. There are several other franchises who will be taking part in the replacement drafts as they will be missing players due to various reasons.
The Afghanistan cricket team's head coach, Jonathan Trott, is adamant about not hastening Rashid's return. Given Rashid's influential presence on the field, the coaching staff is adamant that he be fully fit before making a comeback. The meticulous plan for his return involves a series of medical appointments and check-ups, with no definitive timeline set for his re-emergence in the game.
However, there is optimism about Rashid's return to cricket soon, with expectations that he will play in the IPL with the Gujarat Titans. The Afghan star is a key figure of the Titans and as of now, there is no concern regarding his IPL participation.
