UAE's Usman Khan continued his brilliant run of form in the PSL 2024 after coming in place of Dawid Malan earlier in the season. He smashed a brilliant ton against Karachi Kings, right after the sensational knock of 96 runs off 55 balls in the game before.
Despite losing Reeza Hendricks early on, Usman Khan's century helped Multan Sultans post another daunting total of 189-3 (20 overs). Usman along with Rizwan, had a fine partnership for the second wicket as they added 148 runs.

After Rizwan fell to Muzarabani, Usman Khan kept punishing the bowlers till the end, hitting 10 (4s) and 5 (6s). Khan showcased brilliant footwork and prowess on the offside. His ability to play against the spin and over the covers hackled the Karachi spinners.
Usman notched up his second century in PSL by hitting a six against Mir Hamza in the 20th over and remained not out. Usman never allowed Karachi bowlers to settle and dominate the Multan batters.
During the innings break, Usman Khan said " Happy to score a century. I was aiming for the 170-180 run mark, but happy that we have posted a bigger total. I have played in the middle order, and also the lower middle order. Just trying to take the innings deep batting at his position. Will try to go out there with a mindset of defending 150, that can give us the extra cushion and help us in the second innings."
The innings eventually proved decisive as Karachi Kings went on to win the match by 20 runs while none of the Karachi batters could score a half-century on the night. Multan Sultans qualified for the play-off early in the season with their sixth win of the season.
Karachi Kings, on the other hand, lost their third on the row at home and remain at the fifth place in the six-team PSL table with just two wins in six games.
