PSL 2025" Islamabad United produced a complete performance to thrash Peshawar Zalmi by 102 runs in a one-sided contest, highlighted by Sahibzada Farhan's masterclass and a ruthless bowling effort led by Imad Wasim.
After being put in to bat, Islamabad blazed their way to a mammoth 243/5, riding on Sahibzada Farhan's stunning 106 off 52 balls. Farhan was in sublime touch from the outset, dismantling Zalmi's bowlers with 13 boundaries and five sixes in a breathtaking display. His second-wicket stand with Colin Munro yielded 138 runs, with the New Zealander chipping in with a fluent 40.

Farhan's knock was a perfect mix of timing and aggression. He brought up his century in just 50 balls and celebrated emotionally, punching the air and looking skywards. His departure in the 14th over, caught at deep midwicket off Alzarri Joseph, finally gave Zalmi some respite, but it was short-lived.
Azam Khan and Salman Agha kept the tempo high with some power-packed hitting in the death overs. Agha smashed 30 off 15 while Jason Holder added 20 off 11, and Ben Dwarshuis added a fiery 18 off just six balls. The last three overs produced 44 runs, with Mohammad Ali leaking 51 in his four overs.
Chasing an imposing 244, Peshawar's innings never got going. Mohammad Haris fought a lone battle with a valiant 87 off 47 balls, but wickets fell around him at regular intervals. Once Haris fell, trying to clear long-on, the chase crumbled quickly.
Imad Wasim was the pick of the bowlers, picking up three scalps with his tight, stump-to-stump line. Shadab Khan and Ben Dwarshuis chipped in with crucial strikes to stifle the middle order, as Zalmi's resistance fizzled out.
The innings ended with a perfect length ball from Dwarshuis that cleaned up Mohammad Ali, sealing the emphatic victory. Islamabad United's all-round show - built on Farhan's fireworks and a disciplined bowling display - not only handed them two points but also sent a strong message to their rivals.
Peshawar Zalmi, despite Haris's effort, looked out of depth with both bat and ball. Dropped catches, misfired yorkers, and lack of support for their lone warrior with the bat exposed serious cracks. Islamabad's blend of power hitting and sharp bowling proved far too good. With this crushing win, Islamabad United's playoff ambitions gain a major boost, while Zalmi will need to regroup quickly to salvage their campaign.
