Islamabad United vs Multan Sultans, PSL 2025 Match 7: Who Said What
Shadab Khan, Islamabad United captain:
[Translated] When we batted first the pitch was not easy, it was a bit tacky and the ball was not coming on. But Farhan gave us a good start and the finish was good by Haider and Holder. The pitch seemed a typical Rawalpindi pitch in the second innings. I knew I had a good match-up against Rizwan and was happy to win that match-up. Iftikhar's strike rate against left-arm pace is low and that's why Holder went round the wicket. The season has just started, we still have 7 games to go but we are ticking the boxes. Yes, we need to peak at the right moment in such tournaments and hopefully this is the right moment.
Jason Holder | Player of the Match:
Just enjoying the game. We were tested in this game but we responded well. We are building nicely and need to keep improving. I took some time to get the pace of the wicket and luckily was able to get one or two away. I just try to stay as low as I possibly can while I am batting. I was happy with my plans, was pretty clear with what I wanted to do and happy with the execution.
Mohammad Rizwan, Multan Sultans captain:
[Translated] They scored more than we wanted. The ball was gripping a bit. We didn’t take the 50-50 chances. They got rhythm and momentum. We are still searching for our best XI. We didn’t capture the key moments. Still early days, things haven’t gone our way with both bat and ball. We hope to improve.
