PSL 2025: The live streaming of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 has been suspended in India by FanCode, the official digital broadcaster of the tournament. This significant decision came just 24 hours after the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, that claimed the lives of over 25 people, including Indian tourists.
On April 23, during the PSL fixture between Multan Sultans and Islamabad United, Indian fans were left in the dark as the match was not streamed on FanCode. In fact, the entire PSL section was removed from the platform, sparking speculation before an official confirmation came through: FanCode had suspended PSL 2025 streaming in India with immediate effect.

"In view of the deeply disturbing incident in Pahalgam and the ongoing national sentiment, we have taken the decision to discontinue the broadcast of PSL 2025," said a FanCode representative. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), meanwhile, has not issued a public response to the development.
While FanCode has taken a definitive stance, the television broadcast rights of PSL 2025 in India are held by Sony Sports Network. However, as of now, it remains unclear whether Sony will follow suit. MyKhel has reached out for an official statement, but none has been received at the time of publishing.
This sudden move has amplified debates over the intersection of sports and geopolitics, especially when it comes to India-Pakistan relations. The PSL, Pakistan's flagship T20 competition, has had a historically turbulent presence in India, often reflecting the broader diplomatic climate between the two nations.
The impact of the Pahalgam tragedy was also visibly felt during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 23. Players from both teams wore black armbands in memory of the victims, a minute's silence was observed before the game, and all celebratory elements such as music and fireworks were suspended.
Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya expressed his condolences, stating, "I would like to firstly pass my condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack. We, as a team and a franchise, condemn any such attacks." SRH captain Pat Cummins added, "We as Australians stand behind Indian people, our strong condolences go out to the family."
With no indication of resumption from FanCode and silence so far from Sony Sports Network, the broadcast of PSL 2025 in India appears to be in serious jeopardy. For now, Indian fans may have to do without access to Pakistan's premier cricket league as the sporting world responds to the gravity of events far beyond the boundary.
