PSL 2025: In the aftermath of the tragic Pahalgam terror attack, the tremors are now shaking the world of cricket too. Dream11, India’s top fantasy sports platform, has silently pulled out all Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 matches from its contest list, sparking a storm of speculation and confirming growing tensions between the two neighbouring nations.
On April 22, Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a brutal terrorist attack where gunmen opened fire on unsuspecting tourists, tragically claiming the lives of 26 innocent civilians.

The nation was plunged into grief and outrage, and the government wasted no time in initiating a barrage of strong diplomatic and economic retaliations against Pakistan.
In a series of sweeping measures, the Indian government suspended the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960, closed the Attari border with immediate effect, and mandated the departure of Pakistani nationals from Indian soil within a week. SAARC visa privileges were scrapped, and the effects have now cascaded into the realm of sports.
Soon after the announcement of these sanctions, FanCode, the official digital streaming partner of the PSL in India, suspended its coverage of the ongoing tournament. All PSL-related content vanished from the app and website overnight, with users now encountering a “403 Forbidden” error when trying to access match videos or highlights.
In tandem, Dream11, the fantasy sports giant with millions of active users, has also followed suit. As of April 24, no PSL 2025 matches are available on the platform, and all ongoing or upcoming contests have been quietly removed. A swift search today on the Dream11 app or website shows zero results for PSL fixtures, sending a strong signal of India’s unified sporting stand.
While Dream11 has not issued any official statement yet, the silence from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is equally telling. With PSL 2025 running from April 11 to May 18—this edition coinciding with the IPL for the first time—Pakistan was already struggling for international broadcasting attention.
The Indian cricket fraternity, meanwhile, stood firmly united. During the IPL 2025 clash between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 23, players from both sides wore black armbands in honour of the victims, observing a minute’s silence as a mark of respect.
Reacting strongly to the incident, BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla told Sports Tak,
“We don’t play with Pakistan in bilateral series because of the government’s stance. And we will not play with Pakistan in bilaterals going forward.”
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia echoed the sentiment, stating:
“The cricketing community is deeply shocked and anguished by the tragic loss of innocent lives in the gruesome terror attack at Pahalgam… We extend our heartfelt condolences and stand in solidarity with the victims’ families.”
