PSL Draft 2025: Date, Venue, Registered And Renewed Players List With Categories

PSL Draft 2025: The players drafting process for the next edition of the Pakistan Super League, a T20 tournament organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), will be held in the port city Gwadar in Balochistan on January 11, 2025.

A total of 87 local players have renewed their category ahead of the draft. Hasan Ali (Karachi Kings), Mohammad Amir (Quetta Gladiators), Saim Ayub (Peshawar Zalmi) and Usama Mir (Multan Sultans) have been promoted to Platinum category from Diamond category.

Meanwhile, Imad Wasim, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan (Islamabad United), Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi (Lahore Qalandars), Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan (Multan Sultans) and Babar Azam (Peshawar Zalmi) have been retained in Platinum category.

Also 16 players are in Diamond category, which include four players each of Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans, three players each from Karachi Kings, Islamabad United and two players from Peshawar Zalmi, while Lahore Qalandars have one player in this category.

30 players are part of Gold category which includes seven players of Peshawar Zalmi. Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators have five players each, while Islamabad United and Multan Sultans have four players in Gold category.

Among the 16 players assigned Silver category, Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars have four each, while Peshawar Zalmi have three players in this category. Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans have two players each in Silver category, while Islamabad United have one Silver category player.

In the Emerging category, among the 12 players selected, three players each are part of Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi. Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans have two players each, while Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars have one player each. Here is a look at the local players:

The above list is just a reference for players and their categories. The retention deadline day for the franchises to reveal their retained players in on January 4, 2025. All six franchises will make their retentions known in just a few days time.

PCB had also opened the registration for foreign players earlier in December. And several international stars who were not picked up at the Indian Premier League auction in November, have put their name forward for PSL, which will also be held in the April-May window in 2025.
