Lahore Qalandars are having a torrid time at the PSL 2024 and it only went bad to worse as the two-time defending champions slumped to their sixth consecutive defeat on Tuesday (February 27). The defeat has repercussions on their play-offs qualification chances.
The reigning PSL champions were already sitting at the bottom of the table with no points. This game was virtually a knockout for Lahore Qalandars, who came into the game needing to win all their remaining five matches. The heavy defeat has almost kicked them out of the competition.

Before we discuss Lahore Qalandar's qualification chances for the PSL 2024 play-offs, let's take a look at the points table after their match against Multan Sultans.

If everything goes according to the plan, Lahore Qalandars win the remaining matches. They will reach 8 points at max and will have to rely on the results of the remaining franchises while net run Rate (NRR).
The top spot is already out of their reach with Multan Sultans having 10 points in six game. The three remaining spots are within Lahore's reach. Holding the last play-off spot at fourth, Karachi Kings are the closest with a four-point cushion over Qalandars but have played just seven games left to play.
Zalmi and Gladiators (tied for second) also have played fewer games than Lahore, who have also played all their home matches this season with the tournament moving to Islamabad and Karachi for the remaining rounds.
