Karachi Kings vs Peshawar Zalmi, PSL 2024 Match Result: Babar and Co. Win by Two Runs Against Karachi to claim Summit Spot

PSL Match Result: The PSL 2024 match 29 between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi finished with a win for Peshawar Zalmi over Karachi Kings by two runs at the National Stadium in Karachi on Monday (March 11). Peshawar secures the top spot with 13 points out of 10 games as of now.

Peshawar Zalmi has won another cliffhanger. Anwar Ali tried his best alongside Irfan ( 39 off 26 balls), who played a blinder. But 17 off the final over was too much on a slow pitch. Aamer Jamal showed his nerves as he bowled a few superb balls to clinch it for the Zalmi side. Babar Azam (51 off 46 balls) grabbed Player of the Match for his batting prowess and captaincy.

Seifert (41 off 30 balls) got Karachi off to an excellent start but the chase was never supposed to be easy. Karachi Kings were in the game till Malik and Irfan were at the crease. Naveen-ul-Haq (2/22) was the pick of the bowlers for Peshawar.

Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and decided to set the target for the Karachi Kings. The opening duo, Babar and Saim weren't slogging it out but ended up scoring 54-0 after the powerplay as Karachi leaked 12 extra runs within six overs. After the powerplay, Ayub got the better of Zahid Mahmood with a sharp turner. Then it got difficult to score for the Peshawar in the middle overs as the pitch slowed and the ball got older.

Babar fell just after scoring a fifty due to a run-out. But Powell's cameo propelled Peshawar through the death overs. The spin trio of Malik, Mahmood and Arafat bowled well as they clogged the runs for Peshawar. Arafat was the pick of the bowlers and had an economy rate of 2.80. Nonetheless, Peshawar managed to post a competitive total of 147-6 (20 overs) on a sluggish surface.

Karachi started the chase on a strong note as they were 44-0 after the powerplay. Seifert and Vince gave a brilliant start, given that the ball wasn't coming onto the bat. Eventually, the opening duo fell but the Kings were still in the game. Then Malik and Irfan got together and looked that they would take Karachi over the line. However, Naveen removed Malik, and then the Zalmi side managed to win as Pollard also came a cropper today.
