The protagonists of the chase were skipper Shadab Khan, scoring (74 runs off 41 balls) and Agha Salman, scoring (64 runs off 31 balls). There wasn't much for the bowlers in the game, as only seven wickets fell throughout the whole match.

And the highest wicket-taker was Tymal Mills (2/45), except for him no one was able to reach the double figures in the bowling department. Therefore, bowlers were there for the beating.

United invited the Qalandars to put runs on the board at the inauguration match after winning the toss. Lahore teams were off to a speedy start, scoring (66/0) in a power-play (6 overs). Sahibzada Farhan (57 runs off 36 balls) was the aggressor initially followed by Rassie van der Dussen (71 runs off 41 balls). Although, except for these two nobody played a significant knock, still Lahore Qalandars managed to put up a decent total of 195/5 in 20 overs.

Islamabad United were spot on with their chase, which started briskly, scoring (50/1) in the first six overs. After the departure of Alex Hales (36 runs off 28 balls), Shadab Khan and Agha Salman took centre stage. They formed a match-winning partnership which turned the match in their favour.

Both remaining not-out finished off the game with ten balls left to bowl and with eight wickets in hand. Hopefully, in the upcoming matches, the fans will get to see the good competition between the bat and the ball.
