PSL Match Result: The PSL 2024 match 7 between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars finished with a spectacular win of Multan Sultans by five wickets (with six balls remaining) at Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan on Wednesday (February 24).

The Multan Sultans handed over Lahore Qalandars their third defeat in a row by five wickets in a close encounter. The skipper helped his team to get over the line with a match-winning knock of 82 runs off 59 balls. Then down the order, Iftikhar Ahmed finished the game with his unbeaten 34 runs off 11 balls cameo.

Lahore Qalandars, captain Shaheen Shah Afridi (2/25) and Zaman Khan (2/52) were the highest wicket-takers among the bowlers. Rassie van der Dussen (54 runs off 37 balls) and Fakhar Zaman (41 runs off 36 balls).

After winning the toss, Lahore Qalandars decided to set the target for the Sultans. Qalandars lost their most prominent batter, Sahizada Farhan very early in the game, which put the brakes on their scoring rate. After that, Fakhar Zaman and Rassie van der Dussen formed the biggest partnership of the game for Qalandars.

However, they kept the wickets in hand but couldn't score freely and just managed to put 166-5 (20 overs) on the board. Nonetheless, the Multan Sultan's fielders didn't back up the bowlers, they dropped several catches in the match. That's why Mohammad Ali (2/28) was the only bowler who took more than one wicket.

When Multan Sultans, led by Mohammad Rizwan came to bat, they also didn't start ideally. They lost two wickets at the score of 38 runs in the powerplay. However, while holding one end of the batting, Mohammad Rizwan's terrific knock swayed the game in their favour. Then, Sultan's power-hitter, Iftikhar Ahmed finished the job with a swift cameo for his team, later down the order.
