PSL Match Result: The PSL 2024 match 12 between Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars finished with a thrilling win for Peshawar Zalmi by eight runs at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday (February 25).

Ayub, Babar (48 runs off 36 balls) and Powell (46 runs off 20 balls) helped Peshawar to reach a total of 211-4 (20 overs). Shaheen Afridi (3/33) was the highest wicket-taker for Lahore.

Lahore batters tried their best and almost succeeded, as no one played a significant knock besides van der Dussen. Shai Hope (29 runs off 23 balls) and Ahsan Bhatti (20 runs off 13 balls) looked good but couldn't capitalize on their starts. Since there wasn't much for the bowlers to exploit. Peshawar fielding was top-notch today, especially Saim Ayub, who took a fine catch when the game was going away from Peshawar.

After winning the toss, Lahore Qalandars, led by Shaheen Shah Afridi decided to chase and asked Peshawar to put runs on the board. Peshawar obliged by forming a 136-run partnership between Babar and Ayub.

After the departure of Babar, Saim Ayub accelerated and maximized the condition. Powell played his part by scoring at the strike rate of 230.00. Zalmi scored 68 runs off the last five overs, helping them post their highest score of the season.

Nevertheless, the Lahore start didn't go according to the plan, as they lost two wickets in the powerplay while chasing the big target. Rassie played a fantastic knock of 104 runs off 52 balls but it was too much to ask for in the end. Luke Wood (1/46) and Naveen-ul-Haq (2/50) bowled relatively well for Peshawar on a pitch full of runs. Therefore, Peshawar prevailed in an edge-of-the-seat thriller which went to the wire.
