PSL Match Result: The PSL 2024 match 21 between Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans finished with a terrific win and a decent probability of qualification for playoffs for Peshawar by four runs at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Tuesday (March 05).
Peshawar Zalmi took the game away by four runs in a cracking contest. Thanks to the brilliant knocks by Babar Azam (64 off 40 balls), also the player of the match and Saim Ayub (46 off 22 balls).

Then Haseebullah and Powell cameos towards the end of the inning helped Zalmi post a winning total of 204-5 (20 overs). Usama (3/32) and Jordan (2/33) were the pick of the bowlers for Multan.
Multan Sultans didn't get off to a good start in the chase, losing Hendricks very early didn't help them. The loss of Rizwan in the form of a run-out only made matters worse. However, it was the pair of Iftikhar (60 off 27 balls) and Jordan (30 off 12 balls) who really gave the bowlers of Peshawar a run for their money. The youngster, Mehran Mumtaz bowled an exceptional spell at an economy rate of 5.00. Naveen (1/32) and Aamer (2/36) also helped Peshawar defend the target.
Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and opted to put runs on the board. Babar Azam and Saim Ayub came out all guns blazing as they accumulated 84 runs together. Before, Ayub was taken out by Usama Mir for 46 runs. The Zalmi's lost little momentum at this point as an out-of-form Kohler-Cadmore struggled at the crease before being sent back by Mir.
Then Babar got together with Haseebullah Khan and formed another little partnership. Babar started the rampage and scored another splendid fifty before getting out. Rovman Powell tried to take on the bowlers but Multan's bowlers did well by restricting Peshawar to 204.
Multan Sultans came out to bat with a belief that it was an achievable target on a good surface to bat on. However, they struggled for momentum early on due to the brilliant bowling spell by Mehran Mumtaz. Hendricks tried to break the shackles but fell to Mumtaz. Rizwan looked good but was taken out by a direct hit from Aamer Jamal.
Tayyab and Malan tried to conjure up some runs but too little damage is what they could muster. It was the pair of Iftikhar and Jordan who really made the bowlers of Peshawar worried for a while. However, Zalmi's are the only team that has defeated Multan twice this season and now has nine points.
