Qadir censures poor administration for deteriorating Pak cricket

Lahore, Sep 12 (UNI) Coming down harshely on the PCB for the sorry state of the game in the country, legendary leg spinner Abdul Qadir blamed the poor administration and lack of understanding of cricket among board members for the present condition and called for the appointment of technocrats to run the game in Pakistan.

''The Patron should appoint a honest former Test cricketer as new chairman of the PCB, who should also have the experience of administration,'' Qadir told mediapersons.

He further pointed out that most of the previous administrators had very little experience in cricket that had led to the deterioration of cricket in Pakistan.

''Signing a few letters while sitting in plush offices at the Gaddafi Stadium is not what administration really is. The real job is to handle the players and to produce a number of international-level cricketers,'' he observed.

''In fact there is a complete mess of the PCB affairs because of their unwise decisions. They even failed to handle Shoaib Akhtar's case and also that of Mohammad Asif who has again been caught in a positive dope test,'' Qadir added.
