Rahmat's innings was a testament to his resilience, as he batted through difficult phases and anchored the innings. His knock included a wide array of strokes, underlining his ability to adapt to different situations. Additionally, Rahmat's partnership with Hashmatullah Shahidi, who contributed 141 runs, became Afghanistan's highest partnership in Test cricket.

Zimbabwe racked up a mammoth 586 runs in their first innings, but the Afghan are currently on course to beat it as they stand at 425 for 2.
