After Australia defeated India in the 3-match ODI series on Wednesday, former India spinner Laxman Sivaramakrishnan has revealed that he had offered to help the hosts but was denied the opportunity by Rahul Dravid.
In the series-deciding third ODI in Chennai, Australia spinners Adam Zampa and Ashton picked four and two wickets respectively as India got bundled out for 248 in the 270-run chase.

Replying to a tweet from a fan who pointed out that Australia spinners bowled with more aggressive field, the former leg-spinner said that he had offered to help the India tweakers but head coach Dravid humbly refused citing his senior stature.
"I offered my services to Rahul Dravid and he said that I was too senior to him, to be working under him-with the spinners," the 57-year-old, who played 9 Tests and 16 ODIs for India between 1983 and 1987, tweeted.

After electing to bat first at Chepauk, Australia got off to a flying start before Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav pulled the strings on the visitors.
Kuldeep bowled showcased brilliant spin bowling to pick three wickets including that of David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne and Alex Carey. His bowl magical delivery to Carey left the entire cricket world in awe.
On the first ball of the 39th over and left a well-set Carey shell shocked. The flighted delivery went slower through the air before landing around leg stumps. As Carey attempted to defend the ball with an open bat-face, the ball spun away sharply to beat the outside edge and crash on top of off-stump.
Left-arm spinner Axar Patel also chipped in with two wickets as Australia were bundled out for 269 in 49 overs. However, India failed to chase the target despite their openers giving a solid start to the team.
India batting-unit struggled against quality spin bowling from Zampa and Agar and were rolled out for 249 in 49.1 overs. Leg-spinner Zampa was adjudged Man of the Match.
