Rain plays spoilsport; 3rd ODI is virtually washed out
Chittagong, May 15 (UNI) The third and final one-day international between India and Bangladesh today is but virtually washed out after Cylone Akash hit the coastal areas of Chittagong yesterday.
Met offcice sources here said the cyclone, which lashed the coastal areas before moving towards Myanmar, will have its effects throughout the day with spells of squall and heavy rain.
The match officials have called for an inspection at 1230 hrs local time and put a cut off limit for the start of the match at 1418 hrs. However, the prospects of the two teams taking to the field seem highly unlikely due the unabated downpour.
The drainage facilities none too exceptional, the groundsmen were working very hard to salvage whatever little the possibilty of a match was. The entire ground was all covered i[.
India have already won the Grameenphone series 2-0 but vowed to make it a clean sweep with another win here.
Team India won the first ODI by five wickets while second match by 46 runs.
