Ramandeep Singh joins Elite List after hitting first Ball for Six, only 2nd Indian to achieve rare feat

By MyKhel Staff

India debutant Ramandeep Singh has joined an elite list of players after registering a unique record in the 3rd T20I against South Africa on Wednesday (Nov 13).

India captain Suryakumar Yadav made the solitary change as Ramandeep Singh replaced Avesh Khan in the team.

South Africa opted to bowl first after winning the toss. Despite Sanju Samson's early dismissal for zero, Tilak Varma and Abhishek Sharma stabilised India's innings. Abhishek scored a brisk 50 before departing, while Tilak continued his aggressive play. He dominated the South African bowlers, achieving his maiden T20I century with 107 runs from 56 balls, leading India to a formidable total of 219.

Ramandeep Singh also made his distinct mark in the India batting display. The debutant came late in the crease and launched his first ball for a maximum.

Ramandeep Singh's Special Debut

In his debut match, Ramandeep Singh made history by becoming only the second Indian to achieve a significant T20I milestone. He scored an impressive 15 runs off just six balls in his first international innings. His debut was marked by hitting a six on his very first delivery against Andile Simelane.

This feat places Ramandeep alongside Suryakumar Yadav, who also hit a six on his first T20I ball against England's Jofra Archer in 2021. Additionally, Ramandeep is now the ninth player globally to achieve this rare accomplishment of hitting a six on their first T20I ball.
