Virat Kohli and KL Rahul among Indian Test stars in domestic cricket action with quarter-final spots up for grabs as Ranji Trophy returns for the final round of league stage from Thursday (January 30).

Since BCCI's mandate for Indian cricketers to participate in domestic cricket, some of India's red ball stars have appeared in the Ranji Trophy. Skipper Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill were in action last week, when Kohli and Rahul missed out due to injury.

With the duo fit for action, Kohli is set to play in the Ranji Trophy for the first time 13 years when Delhi face Railways in Elite Group D match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

In Group D, Railways have a better shot at making the knock-out stages if they beat Delhi with bonus points and take their tally to 24, while Delhi is out of contention from reaching the quarter-finals. Tamil Nadu, Chandigarh and Saurashtra are favourites to take the top two spots.

Rahul, on the other hand, is expected to feature for Karnataka as they look to seal quarter-final spot from Elite Group C when they take on Haryana, who lead the group followed by Kerala. Karnataka, currently in third, host Haryana at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Kerala and Haryana are well poised to take the last eight spots, but Karnataka can change that with a bonus point win. Kerala will face Bihar in their final group match, while Bengal and Punjab face off in Kolkata.

Apart from the Group C and D, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh are set for a high-stakes clash as they battle for the final quarter-final spot from Elite Group B during their final Ranji Trophy league game.

Group A will see Baroda take on surprise package Jammu & Kashmir as the two teams battle for top spot in Vadodara. Third-placed Mumbai, who will be without, Shreyas Iyer, Rohit and Yashasvi Jaiswal, will also be pushing for a quarter-final berth. Here is all you need to know about Ranji Trophy:
