Ravichandran Ashwin took the wicket of Shakib Al Hasan to go past West Indies legend Courtney Walsh and become the eighth-highest wicket-taker in the history of Test cricket.
Ashwin, who was introduced into the attack after the first hour of play on Day 4, struck in his first over to break a 48-run stand between Shakib, and Najmul Hossain Shanto and go past Walsh.

The veteran off-spinner, who recently celebrated his 38th birthday, later picked the wicket of Mehidy Hasan Miraz to complete a five-fer and take India close to a thumping win at his home ground - MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk). The 37th Test five-fer brought him at par with Shane Warne.
The Chennai-born cricketer is now also the first cricketer to score a hundred and take a five-fer at the same venue twice in Test cricket. Overall, it was his fourth instance of him scoring a hundred and registering a five-wicket haul in a single Test match. Only Ian Botham (5) is the only other cricketer to achieve the rare feat more times.
Playing in his 101st Test match, Ashwin scored a sensational sixth hundred in the first innings for India, and then picked a five-fer in the second innings. Ashwin is now just 10 wickets behind going past his Australian counterpart Nathan Lyon, who has picked 530 wickets in 129 matches.
He will have a great chance of going past Lyon before flying to Australia in November. After the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur, India will play three Test matches against New Zealand at home.
