Ravindra Jadeja on Friday, February 16 became the 15th Indian cricketer to complete 1000 Test runs against England. Jadeja could add only two runs to his overnight score of 110 in the ongoing third Test in Rajkot, but joined an elite list consisting of players like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Cheteshwar Pujara.
Jadeja brought up his fourth Test hundred on the opening day of the Test on Thursday to take India past 300 after they were reduced to 33/3 in the opening session. Jadeja forged a 200-plus partnership with Rohit Sharma - only the third by an India pair for the fourth wicket against England. His partnership with debutant Sarfaraz Khan accounted for 77 runs as India ended Day 1 on 326/5.

The hundred was Jadeja's second against England. He also hit a hundred against the Three Lions in the Birmingham Test in July 2022. After his 112-run knock in the first innings of the Rajkot Test, Jadeja now has 1000 Test runs against England at an average of 35.71 in 30 innings (18 Test matches*). He also has smashed six fifties against the opposition.
Sachin Tendulkar is India's leading run-scorer against England in Test cricket, and only the second Indian batter after Sunil Gavaskar to cross the 2000-run mark.
Ravindra Jadeja also completed his 3000 Test runs in the match, becoming only the third Indian after Kapil Dev and Ravichandran Ashwin to register the double of 3000 runs and 200 wickets in the format. He is currently the number one ranked Test all-rounder in the world.
