Ravindra Jadeja announced his retirement from T20I cricket a day after India won the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados. In an Instagram post on Sunday (June 30), Ravindra Jadeja said he would continue to play ODI and Test cricket.

“With a heart full of gratitude, I bid farewell to T20 internationals. Like a steadfast horse galloping with pride, I’ve always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats . Winning the T20 World Cup was a dream come true, a pinnacle of my T20 International career. Thank you for the memories, the cheers, and the unwavering support," Jadeja wrote in his Instagram post.
Ravindra Jadeja did not have an impressive run in the T20 World Cup 2024. He picked just one wicket in eight matches, and failed to make an impact in the limited opportunities he got as a batter. However, he scored handy 17 unbeaten runs off nine balls in the semi-final against England.
The star all-rounder played a total of 74 T20I matches for India, scoring 515 runs and picking 54 wickets at an economy rate of 7.13.
Notably, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma also announced retirement from T20I cricket after India's title win in Barbados on Saturday. Jadeja also featured in the U-19 World Cup both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
The 35-year-old in his announcement also confirmed that he will continue to play ODI and Test cricket like Kohli and Rohit. Jadeja has played 72 Tests and 197 ODI matches till date. He has scored over 3036 Test runs and picked 294 wickets in Test cricket. In ODIs, the left-hander has scored 2756 runs and picked 220 wickets.
