Ravindra Jadeja has slammed his father for tarnishing the image of his wife Rivaba who is a BJP MLA from Jamnagar. In an interview with Divya Bhaskar, Anirudhsinh has blamed Rivaba for causing rift in the family.

In the interview Ravindra Jadeja's father said he was not in touch with his son for years, adding that Rivaba has done some sort of magic on the star cricketer.

As the interview went viral, Ravindra Jadeja soon took to his social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), saying that claims made were "nonsense, meaningless and untrue". "Let's ignore what's said in scripted interviews," Jadeja has captioned the statement.

"All the things said in the nonsense interview are meaningless and untrue. It is a one-sided story and I completely deny the allegations. The attempts made to tarnish the image of my wife are truly reprehensible and unbecoming. I, too, have a lot to say but won't do it publicly," Ravindra Jadeja has written.

Jadeja' father has claimed that Jadeja has not been in touch even with his sister because of Rivaba. He also mentioned about not meeting his granddaughter for the last five years.

"He is my son, and it burns my heart. I wish I hadn't gotten him married. It would have been better if he hadn't become a cricketer. We would not have to go through all this in that case," Jadeja’s father said.

"Within three months of the marriage, she told me that everything should be transferred to her name. She created a rift in our family. She didn't want the family and desired an independent life. I could be wrong, and Naynaba (Ravindra's sister) could be wrong, but you tell me, how can all 50 members of our family be wrong? There's no relation with anyone in the family; there's just hate."

"I don't want to hide anything. We haven't even seen the face of our granddaughter in five years. Ravindra's in-laws manage everything. They interfere in everything. They are making merry now because they have got a bank," Jadeja’s father added.

Ravindra Jadeja completed 15 years in international cricket on Thursday, February 8. He is currently at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, recovering from a hamstring injury. He is likely to return for the third Test at home ground in Rajkot.
