RCB 250/3 vs CSK: Rajat Patidar, Tim David Smash Explosive Death-Over Runs
Royal Challengers Bengaluru delivered a stunning batting performance to post a commanding 250/3 in 20 overs against Chennai Super Kings at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, with skipper Rajat Patidar and Tim David producing a breathtaking finish in the death overs.

After opting to bat first on a batting-friendly surface in Bengaluru, RCB built their innings steadily before unleashing an explosive late surge that left the Chennai bowlers struggling to contain the scoring.
Kohli, Salt and Padikkal Lay Solid Foundation for RCB
RCB's innings began with a brisk start from Virat Kohli and Phil Salt, who ensured the team got early momentum without losing control.
Kohli scored 28 off 18 balls, while Salt contributed 46 off 30 deliveries, combining for a 37-run opening partnership that set the tone. The middle phase saw Devdutt Padikkal take charge, playing a fluent knock of 50 off 29 balls to keep the scoreboard ticking.
By the 14.1-over mark, RCB had reached 151/3, a strong platform but still short of the massive total that would eventually unfold.
Patidar and David Deliver Late Fireworks
The closing phase of the innings belonged entirely to Rajat Patidar and Tim David, who combined for a blistering 99-run partnership off just 35 balls.
Patidar continued his impressive run of form with another attacking display, reaching his half-century off just 21 balls. He kept the pressure on the bowlers with aggressive strokeplay and clever placement, ensuring RCB never lost momentum.
At the other end, Tim David unleashed one of the most destructive spells of hitting in the match. The Australian finisher took apart the CSK bowling attack in the penultimate over, smashing multiple sixes to bring up a sensational 50 off just 15 balls.
The rapid scoring completely shifted the tempo of the innings and pushed RCB well beyond the 230-run mark.
Strong Finish Caps Record Total for RCB
RCB added a remarkable 97 runs in the final five overs, turning what looked like a competitive total into a daunting one.
Patidar continued to find boundaries in the final over, while David ensured the momentum remained firmly in RCB's favour. The late surge lifted Royal Challengers Bengaluru to 250/3, registering their highest-ever total against Chennai Super Kings in IPL history.
The commanding total placed immediate scoreboard pressure on CSK and highlighted the depth and power in RCB's batting line-up, especially in the finishing stages.
With Patidar leading from the front and David delivering a trademark finishing flourish, Royal Challengers Bengaluru produced one of the most dominant batting displays of IPL 2026 so far.
