Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has unveiled their green jersey and the franchise will continue their tradition of celebrating the "Go Green Day" in the ongoing Indian Premier League season 18 - IPL 2025.
RCB usually choose an afternoon match, generally the 3:30 or 4 PM PM IST start, as their Go Green game in every season. These Go Green matches have traditionally been held at the home venue - M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru with home side sporting green instead of the traditional red.

The Bengaluru-based side, which opened their campaign with a 7-wicket win against the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, is scheduled to play seven home games.
However, none of their home fixtures is a 3:30 PM IST start, leading to the question of when will the Go Green match be held in IPL 2025. While none of their home games will be an afternoon start, two away games of RCB will start at 3:30 PM IST in April.
The franchise has also held the Go Green match in a neutral venue in the past few seasons due to the COVID-enforced restrictions of a limited venue for the matches in seasons 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2024, while the game was held again in Bengaluru in 2023.
The RCB Green Jersey match has also been held as a night match in the 2021 season in Abu Dhabi, but that was when they sported special blue jersey as a tribute to Covid-19 frontline warriors in India and worldwide. So, when will RCB play the special match this season?
Among their 3:30 PM starts, RCB will play Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 13 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur followed by a trip to Chandigarh to face Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the new PCA Stadium on April 20.
Going by last season’s schedule, when they faced KKR in the Go Green match on April 21, there is a very good chance that the 2025 RCB Green March day could be on April 20, when they face PBKS at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh.
The 'Go Green' initiative was coined for creating awareness about planting trees and reducing the effect of Global Warming. The skipper of RCB will also present a plant as a memento to the opposition skipper during the toss as part of the special initiative since 2011.
The Bangalore-based franchise wears the green jerseys, made of 100 percent recycled materials, only during the afternoon matches. But that pattern may change as the franchise may have to pick a night match as the 'Go Green' day due to the scheduling.
So far, RCB have played a total of 14 games in the Green Jersey, but possesses a poor record as they have just won four and lost nine times, while one match was abandoned in 2015 against Delhi Capitals due to rain.
