Royal Challengers Bengaluru have made a late surge in the IPL 2024, which continued with another stellar victory over Delhi Capitals on Sunday (May 12).
It is RCB's fifth straight victory in the season as they bolster their hopes for the playoffs, but there is still a lot of permutation and combination left, and things will have to fall in pieces for Virat Kohli and co.

With 12 points in 13 matches, the once-last boys of IPL 2024 has propelled themselves to fifth in the table. With the magnificent victories they have registered of late, the Net Run Rate has also significantly improved for them.
Yes, they can reach the IPL playoffs. Although it was looking unbelievable a few matches back, RCB are in the hunt.
Now, to qualify for the playoffs, RCB will be having a look at some of the upcoming matches, but the most important match will be their clash against Chennai Super Kings on Saturday (May 18).
As RCB can reach a maximum of 14 points, here is the scenario of how RCB can make it to playoffs.
RCB and CSK have the NRR difference of 0.141 and they will be locking horns against each other in their final group stage match. If RCB beat Chennai Super Kings by a margin of 18 runs (bat first) or 11 balls in the chase, Faf du Plessis and his team will have a better NRR than CSK.
But it won't be enough for RCB if LSG win both of their matches. Hence, they will have to keep an eye on Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants as well. Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans can reach 14 points but their NRR is significantly poor (DC -0.482, GT -1.063).
If LSG win only one of their two matches, and both DC and GT remain significantly inferior in their NRR, the May 18 match between RCB and CSK will be a virtual quarterfinal encounter.
If RCB bat first and score 200 runs, they will have to beat Chennai Super Kings by a margin of 18 runs. If CSK bat first and score 200 runs, RCB will have to win the match will 11 balls to spare.
If Sunrisers Hyderabad lose both of their final two matches and LSG manage only one victory of their two, then only a victory will ensure RCB's qualification for the playoffs. as SRH will inevitably have an inferior NRR than the Bengaluru outfit.
