Following Royal Challengers Bengaluru's historic maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title win in 2025, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma shared an emotional and heartfelt celebration at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

After 18 years of perseverance and near misses, RCB clinched their first IPL title by defeating Punjab Kings in a thrilling final in Ahmedabad. Kohli, who top-scored with 43 runs, was visibly overwhelmed with emotion. Post-match, he embraced his wife, Anushka Sharma, in a tearful hug on the field, a moment that quickly went viral on social media.

Kohli publicly acknowledged Anushka's unwavering support throughout his career, stating, "She stood by me, through thick and thin," highlighting the personal significance of the victory.

The India star was visibly emotional as he resonated the moment after the match. In a post-match chat with Jio Hotstar, Kohli acknowledged the unwavering support of Anushka, calling her a 'Bangalore Girl'.

"She's been coming to support RCB since 2014- it's been 11 years for her too. Through all the tough games, the heartbreaks, she's been there. What your life partner does for you to be able to perform professionally - the sacrifices, the emotional strength, it's hard to put into words. Only someone in professional sports can understand the pressure and what happens behind the scenes. Anushka has seen me at my lowest, and she's always stood by me. So this moment is incredibly special for her too. She's going to be so, so proud," Kohli said.

After the win, Bengaluru erupted in celebration, with fans chanting "Ee Sala Cup Namdu" (This year, the cup is ours). A grand victory parade is organized on Wednesday and the celebrations will go wild. After the match, Kohli also thanked the RCB fans for their perseverance and loyalty.

"This title is as much for the fans as it is for us. These people have backed us relentlessly for 18 years. We've had horrible seasons and great ones too, but they turned up for every game in Bengaluru. I've never seen loyalty like that. That's what made me stay. That's why I never wavered from RCB. It's also why this win is so special. These fans truly are loyally royal," he added.
