Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is reportedly set to add former Kolkata Knight Riders assistant bowling coach and current Mumbai head coach Omkar Salvi to their support staff ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
According to a report by the Indian Express, RCB has appointed Omkar Salvi as their fast bowling coach for the 2025 IPL season. Omkar, the brother of former India pacer Avishkar Salvi, will take over the role before the next season.

Salvi has worked in the IPL earlier, working as an assistant bowling coach for Kolkata Knight Riders for a long time, and most recently under Bharat Arun. The report added that RCB will make the official announcement soon.
RCB has already made an addition to their coaching staff for the next edition in the form of Dinesh Karthik, who has been appointed mentor and batting coach following his retirement from the game earlier this year.
Karthik has worked with Salvi during his previous stint as captain in KKR. Salvi represented Railways in a solitary one-day in domestic cricket. But has developed a reputation of being one of the most sincere and updated coaches in the domestic arena.
Before taking over as head coach of Mumbai, Salvi served as the bowling coach for the state team, working under Chandrakant Pandit, who now serves as the head coach of KKR. It is unclear whether Salvi will replace Adam Griffith at RCB as it stands.
The Bengaluru-based side have slowly been making changes to their backroom, starting with the appointment of Andy Flower and Mo Bobat as head coach and director of cricket respectively last year.
RCB will be busy later this week in assembling a squad that could finally land them the title after 17 failed attempts. The Royal Challengers have retained only Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal going into the IPL Mega Auction 2025 with plenty to do in terms of player recruitment.
The franchise will aim for more Indian talent at the big auction as they look to move away from filling the squad with big name overseas players like they have done in the past.
